Oil Volatility: Why the Turbulence May Not Be Over

NDR’s Chief Global Investment Strategist, Tim Hayes, joined CNBC’s Closing Bell Overtime to break down the sharp swings in oil driven by rising geopolitical tension. He noted that the OVX oil volatility index has returned to levels last seen in 2020, when volatility ultimately moved higher and stayed elevated for months.

Tim also highlighted that the VIX recently breaking above 28 signals that uncertainty remains broad‑based across markets.

Bottom line: Both oil and equities may experience continued volatility, making discipline and risk awareness essential in the weeks ahead.
